Quick Catch Up: Hello October

September has been a month packed to bursting, and as we say Hello October, it looks as though the next four weeks will be just as busy – and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

September is always one of my favourite months; the air has a new fresh bite to it, the evenings are drawing in, the leaves start to change and autumn begins to feel like its in full swing. Not to mention that the beverage that has reached superstar status, the Pumpkin Spiced Latte (or PSL to friends) is soon to hit the coffee bars!

Its been a month of seaside hikes and beach combing, curling up with a mug of hot tea and a cosy knitting project.

There has been lots of knitting in my life these last few weeks. I had a fantastic time working with the UKHKA at the Creative Stitches & Hobbycraft Show, Event City, Manchester – not only did I get to meet lots of lovely people – and get to teach a few new friends to knit – I took part in the World Record Attempt for the longest knitted chain I can’t wait to find out how long the finished chain ends up!

It’s so great to get back behind the needles, as it were, and I’ve been working on a few new designs – this cosy moss stitch cowl is a must-have this autumn, I don’t think I’m ever going to take it off – plus there will be a few more original designs popping up in the next few weeks too! The arrival of Woodland Knits – the eagerly anticipated book from Stephanie Dosen – has just about tipped me over the edge with excitement. It is cover-to-cover packed with the worlds most beautiful, whimsical knits imaginable – I just don’t know where to start! In case you didn’t spot it – you could win a copy Woodland Knits – but be quick, this giveaway closes at the end of the week…oh and if you’re a fan of Stephanie Dosen – you might want to swing in past on Friday, because I have a special treat in store!

As we’re on the subject of winning – there is just a little time left to enter the giveaway to win a Make Your Own Rusty The Fox Kit from DotComGiftShop so don’t miss out!

One of the things I’m most excited this month is attending the Knitting & Stitching Shows in London & Dubin – Check out these dates and events – I’ll be on the Freudenberg Vilene Stand, to share some of my latest makes, demonstrate some cool stitching techniques featuring Vilene and on hand to help with your knitting and stitching questions (pssst, I’ll also have a cheeky discount coupon for my book The Sewing Manual too!) I’d love to be able to catch up with some of you crafty folks this month!

Remember last month when I got all kinds of soppy reminiscing about our handmade wedding in a special first anniversary post I mentioned a little book I’d been working on? Well, my friends, while I can’t show you a sneak preview of the cover just yet I can share that my DIY Wedding Manual – which is out early 2014 – is on pre-order over at Amazon – so, if you’re thinking of tying the knot next year, or know someone who is, this book could be right up your street! ♥
